You will be a key member of Medtronic's Surgical Robotics Commercial Operations team, working to support the commercialization of our Surgical Robotics Platform. The Americas Customer Experience Specialist will be a key member of Commercial Operations team in the Surgical Robotics OU working to drive installation of the Surgical Robot in Americas. Placement of a surgical robot in the hospital requires coordination with technical service and supply chain along with supporting field based resources to ensure successful installation in a hospital.

The Surgical Robotic Operating Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall and pelvic region.
A Day in the Life
You will be responsible for coordinating the supply of the Hugo™ RAS System with the requisite field resources to ensure a successful integration of a new surgical robot into a hospital. These activities would include working with Field Technical Service to perform a pre-sale site survey, providing simulators for advanced training of surgeons, booking training classes for surgeons and staff, identifying the Startup Specialist who will support the hospital's program during the transition period, identifying the availability date for a robot from the supply chain, and coordinating with Sales to make commitments to customers.


  • Organize installation planning calls with Sales, Field Service and the Startup Specialist.
  • Work closely together with the training team to align on installs and first scheduled surgeries.
  • Ensure the account places an order for consumables to support the initial use of the system.
  • Arrange the details of the commissioning including tracking the shipment, notifying Sales, Field Service and the Startup Specialist.
  • Coordinate any special requests from the account relative to delivery and commissioning.
  • Maintain metrics and dashboards for process control and transparent communications.
  • Continuously improve the process: Create/follow standard work, define/measure/improve core metrics.

As part of the Surgical Robotics Customer Experience team, you should be able to:

  • Work independently, yet in close relationship with its Sales, Customer Training, Field Service, and Robotics Systems Utilization team members
  • Communicate clearly and manage expectations in a fast-paced, high stress environment

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Nice to Have

  • Fluent in English & Spanish, Knowledge of French or Brazilian Portuguese would be a plus
