Position overview

Do you enjoy providing excellent service and building strong internal relationships? We need energetic senior systems engineering professionals to join our DevOps team. If selected, you will be a part of building and supporting a variety of applications as part of an expanding DevOps team using the newest technologies. We need someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and watching junior team members grow and flourish. We are looking for friendly, outgoing, well-spoken people who are service-minded, competent, reliable, and flexible.

Duties & responsibilities

The successful candidate will:


  • Perform and collaborate on troubleshooting.

  • Guide and improve performance tuning and capacity planning

  • Contribute to trending analysis as well as security remediation and hardening.

  • Providing direct server, cloud, and application support during various operations such as deployment and general production

  • Investigate and drive automation of release and builds

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any environmental issues

  • Responsible for maintaining and building support documentation

  • Provision cloud resources to support app dev teams

  • Share knowledge and mentor other engineers on the team.

  • Conduct and share research on emerging DevOps products and processes to enable and support constant improvement.

  • Achieve and/or support company performance goals.

  • Other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Participate in meeting sharing experiences and providing feedback on architectural concepts, proof of concept, proposed solutions, and process improvement


Skills & abilities

The successful candidate needs:


  • A strong understanding of Cloud Foundations and advocate for Governance, Operations, Optimization, Performance and Reliability.

  • Must have experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).

  • Familiar with Azure Boards or experience with other project based tracking tools.

  • Have experience with DevOps toolchains, including configuration management. Experience with different integration testing methods, including security automation, are a plus.

  • Experience with TerraForm is required.

  • Experience with TerraGrunt is a plus.

  • Familiarity with CloudFormation would be considered.

  • Cross-cloud experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus.

  • Windows Server knowledge a plus

  • Possess a strong command of scripting language, preferably Bash (a deep understanding of Powershell will be considered) and one other language (Python, .NET, Java, Rust, Go, Ruby, etc...).

  • A positive attitude, with an eagerness to solve problems.

  • Excellent reasoning and research skills; the ability to see the "big picture" and manage the details.

  • Can take a task and run with it with minimal oversight.

  • Demonstrates experience in a variety of the field's concepts and best practices.

  • Fully understands software development lifecycle and experience with agile/scrum methodologies to software development.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Participate in solution design sessions.

  • Ability to present ideas and designs to variety of audiences.

  • Good written and spoken professional communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
