Job Description:

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Credit Officer – Business Banking, this position supports Business Banking Officers and Business Banking Branch Managers with the execution of business loans from the approval stage to funding and post-closing.  Ensures high-quality service to client base through communication, timely and accurate follow-through, and problem-resolution on behalf of the client and Relationship Manager while maintaining positive relationships with customers and fellow employees.

 

 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Maintain electronic loan and credit files in Nautilus for the Senior Business Banking Officer.

• Research and answer questions regarding process or other transaction-related items. 

• Maintain the accuracy and cleanliness of the Commercial Loan Process system (CLP) for applications in all milestones post-approval.

• Coordinate preparation of loan and packages including: Customer Identification Program for Borrower and Guarantors, determine beneficial ownership, obtain and review entity documents, obtain insurance(s), obtain proper disclosures, order appraisals, and review documents (Loan-to-Value, environmental collateral screens, real estate title commitments, endorsements and title searches, etc.).

• Ensure conditions of approval are met before the loan closes, and coordinate loan closings with Doc Prep, customers, attorneys/settlement agents, and Relationship Manager.

• Review executed loan packages for completeness and prepare for post-closing.

• Partner with Portfolio Monitoring Group/Commercial Portfolio Manager teams with modifications, renewals, and short-term extensions. 

Job Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Required:

• 3 years of commercial or business banking experience.

• Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to business lending including fair lending laws, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Flood Disaster Protection Act, Bank Secrecy Act, and USA Patriot Act.

• Proficient in ordering/reviewing Uniform Commercial Code searches to ensure the proper lien position.

• Proficient in all areas of a real estate transaction from ordering/reviewing, appraisals (order), insurance verification, flood determination (order) title policies, loan documents, entity documents, beneficial ownership, closing instructions, Department of Housing and Urban Development research, and credit approval packages.

• Must have a clear understanding how to review and ensure the accuracy of loan documents.

• Ability to process work accurately and effectively, multi-task in a high-paced working environment, and demonstrate attention to detail.

• Manage prioritization of workflow for maximum efficiency (especially supporting multiple Relationship Managers).

• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

• Proficient math and organizational skills.

• Ability to communicate in a positive, professional, and effective manner, and ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff, outside partners, and customers.

• Must be able to take initiative to expedite loans and solve problems with minimal guidance. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:

• College coursework in accounting or finance.

• Familiarity with LaserPro Loan Documents.
