The Regional Director, Operations ensures thorough oversight and compliance of all designated regional area Transit contracts. The Regional Director, Operations acts as the liaison between MTM Transit leadership and support teams, Transit clients, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure MTM Transit is fully compliant with contract requirements. This position reports directly to the Regional Vice President.
What You’ll Do:
Provide oversight and direction to ensure business outcomes and contract goals are defined and met
Assist with negotiating collective bargaining agreements
Improves division profitability
Maintain an awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customer, markets, new industry developments and standards
Learn and understand all aspects of assigned region contracts
Assists in new business development of assigned region and management of implementations
Present a positive image of MTM Transit through Client meetings and RFP presentations
Increase revenue by achieving the organization’s overall goals and improve profitability results
Responsible for complete ownership of the assigned business unit’s P&L successes and failures
Keep current on contract compliance and adherence to regulations and policies
Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the ADA, DOT, and all related FTA Regulations
Select talent, coach, motivate, lead, and manage an organization sufficient to accomplish business objectives
Develop succession planning for leadership positions
Provide training and professional development to staff, that which includes monthly budget reviews and strategies
Lead, motivate, guide, direct, and evaluate the work of leaders including General Managers (GM), Program Managers, Operations Personnel, and Safety/Training leaders
Assess each location’s operation and empower the GM by providing tools, resources, and training to achieve desired business objectives
Work with individual General Managers and Safety Managers to reduce accident and injury frequency rates
Work with the GM to create a positive workplace culture
Work with the Clients to follow through on service issues, troubleshooting problems and concerns, complaints to resolution
Act as a liaison between MTM Transit and external stakeholders to educate on MTM Transit services and ensure customer satisfaction
Be available as Client’s key point of contact for any issues relating to the contract
Present annual plan reviews and work in a consultative manner with Clients
Address all issues in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the client and MTM Transit
Acquire a good understanding of State/County, and local climate and issues pertaining to contracts
Maintain active involvement in State/Government programs and transportation related conferences/seminars
Ensure ongoing compliance to MTM Transit’s Safety Programs - promoting a safety 1st culture
Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge of MTM Transit’s departments with the goal of increasing productivity and reducing associated risk
Implement programs to improve rider satisfaction and driver safety
What You’ll need:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7+ years Transit management with expertise in Fixed Route, Paratransit, or Mobility Management in a Transit like or Livery/logistics industry managing profitable operations
At least 5 years’ experience in operations and management of staff
Proven experience supervising and monitoring the delivery of contracted services
Prior contract and or project management experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license

Extensive analytical and proven data collection methods
Exceptional interpretation and problem-solving skills
Ability to schedule, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Able to evaluate and resolve problems and issues in a constructive manner
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Salary Min: $120,000
Salary Max: $150,000
