Overview

Garmin International seeks Team Leader Software Engineering (Olathe, KS; Multiple Positions): Direct and coordinate activities of a software engineering team responsible for software development of Garmin technologies. Directly supervise software engineering team members with daily observation, assuring appropriate attendance, and providing assistance and training to team members. Work with Human Resources to address employee relations issues as needed including writing and conducting annual performance evaluations. Coordinate and participate in generating software requirements and designs for a product or family of products in accordance with Garmin's software development methodology. Participate in software design reviews as necessary, assuring proper attendees and proper coverage of topics, imparting lessons learned and good design practices to all who attend. Create product development plans as directed by engineering management.

Bachelor's degree in Geomatic Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer or Software Engineering or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in embedded GNSS positioning engineering that includes experience in a team leadership role

Must have demonstrated experience in the following:


  • MATLAB

  • C, C++

  • GNSS (raw measurements, satellite coordinate computations and position estimation)

  • Advance GNSS positioning techniques (carrier phase smoothing, ambiguity resolution, and ephemeris modeling)

  • Kalman filtering and estimation theory

  • Algorithm development and mathematical modeling

  • Heading math models with the focus on position/velocity/heading computations

  • Working in an agile or CI/CD environment

  • Automated unit and integration tests

In lieu of a Bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience, a Master's plus three years of experience in the requirements noted above is acceptable.
