WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE:


  • As the Fabrication Manager you will lead a team of Supervisors and 9+ indirect reports.

  • Engage with key departments to build efficiencies and align on planning and longer term strategy

  • Review production schedules as part of planning for future and ongoing projects to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or assignments

  • Plans and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and to improve department efficiency and utilization.

  • Lead daily pre‐production meetings to review safety, quality and production issues with your teams

  • Identifies safety, quality and production related issues, assists with root cause analysis and validates agreed corrective actions.

  • Proactively works to eliminate waste and adds value to all processes.

  • Runs the Performance Management Process for team members, setting goals and quarterly appraisals

  • Develops and maintains a skilled workforce by hiring, training, and evaluating staff. Includes working with relevant parties to review skill requirements, identify needs, and evaluating training for overall effectiveness at all stages of employment.

  • Identifies and develops subordinate leadership within the department.

  • Prepares and maintains production reports.

THE EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING TO ADD TO THE TEAM:


  • 5+ years of metal fabrication (steel is required, copper is a plus) experience and related equipment (brakes, cutters, lathes etc) and knowledge of welding.

  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional blueprints to plan and layout fabrication design dimensions.

  • Experience with planning for timing and throughput

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal, team building, communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.

  • Advanced team leadership skills; motivate, partner with other departments etc


  • Lean knowledge and experience is a big plus

  • Familiarity with the development and implementation of work instructions.

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions.

  • A clear focus, understanding and desire to drive improvement across Safety, Quality and Production.

  • High School Education or GED is required
