Position Summary:
We are looking for an organized and experienced trainer to join our team. The Industrial SMO Training Specialist will be responsible for trade-related curriculum development and training for new and existing sewing machine operators. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering training program material, instructions and providing learning resources to novice and intermediate sewing machine operators. The ideal candidate will be up to date on industry standard processes and training methods to improve SMO Training performance success.
Responsibilities:
Develop and provide trade-related training program in the training center. This will include hands-on demonstrations; (ex: class outlines, presentations, handouts, tests, design exercises)
Ability to accommodate various levels of sewing proficiency from novice to intermediate.
Substitute into the manufacturing line for periods of time when needed
Work directly with the engineering team and line leads to introduce new product or implement changes to the production lines
Administers written and practical exams and write performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
Train quality inspectors on proper techniques
Run random Inspection audits to evaluate product quality
Maintain personal knowledge, training, and proficiency on course material
Ensure a safe and pleasant learning environment for staff/trainees
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standard
Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to give oral presentations.
Ability to identify gaps in skills
Knowledge of various teaching methods and approaches.
Encouraging to team and staff, able to mentor and lead
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent to constant talking.
