Summary:


The Senior Vice President for Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) is looking for a passionate and mission-driven individual to support our (COE) team. The candidate should be committed to supporting resources and energy to maintaining an exemplary community-based outreach program that addresses cancer disparities in Western New York. Our ideal candidate will be a 'people person' with great customer service skills who is excited to welcome community members to Roswell Park and connect community members with information, programs, and services. We seek a candidate with exceptional oral and written communication skills and previous secretarial or administrative experience who can provide administrative support to the Senior Vice President for COE and the COE team. The candidate will join Roswell Park's COE team that is proud of its diversity and where teammates are empowered to bring ideas to the table and act. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in community outreach settings or community-based organizations. Hours may be flexible to accommodate community events in evenings or on weekends.


What you will be doing:


• Welcome community members to the new Community Outreach and Engagement Building, set to open in summer 2022
• Provide on-site, telephone, and email reception; answer questions about programing and services; direct community members to additional resources within and outside of Roswell Park
• Provide support to community members accessing the resource and educational materials on-site; provide computing assistance to community members using on-site computer workstations
• Maintain a list of frequently asked questions; identify areas of additional resource and information needs; work with Roswell Park staff to add to resources available to community members
• Lead event scheduling at the Community Outreach and Engagement Building; work with community partners to facilitate use of the building; serve as a liaison to community partners to coordinate events and use of the space
• Manage hosting events and meetings, including scheduling, invitations, set up/break down, ordering refreshments, and technological/AV/Virtual conferencing troubleshooting
• Work with Roswell Park and external partners to develop a calendar of events to maximize use of the building
• Maintain databases of community partners, advocates, and community-based organizations; facilitate communications via print and email; collaborates with the COE team to increase engagement with community partners; work with COE team to develop and distribute newsletters
• Maintain communication with Community Advisory Boards, schedule meetings
• Provide secretarial support to Senior Vice President for COE, provide administrative support 12 COE staff members as needed.
• Support operations and meetings that are in-person, hybrid, and virtual.


Starting salary for this position is $61,423 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.




Qualifications:


Required Education and Experience


1. Associate's degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time secretarial or related experience.


NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.



Preferred Qualifications:



The preferred candidate will have experience in community outreach settings or community-based organizations Experience in customer service settings or work environments that require strong interpersonal skills, experience preparing written communications (email, newsletter, reports) Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications, prior experience in using multiple virtual meeting platforms, is proficient in setting up calendar appointments and meetings and extremely organized and detail oriented.
