Job Description:

As Project Engineer, you are responsible for the planning, layout, design, and installation of manufacturing systems.

  

You Will


  • Project Engineer from purchase through operation of equipment


  • Design plant layouts using Autocad


  • Communicate with vendors, customers, plant personnel & multiple plant locations


  • Work with vendors to ensure proper equipment requirements and ensure delivery of machines/equipment to desired location at the agreed upon time


  • Install, troubleshoot and debug machinery


  • Develop budgets and alternatives


  • Coordinate Contractors


  • Safety/EHS - Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times; and provide leadership to immediately resolve/eliminate any unsafe conditions


  • Participate in and provide leadership for Lean Six Sigma projects


  • Be responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action


  • Project Management in SAP


  • SAP PM Proficiency


  • Drive Reliability Improvement Projects


  • General maintenance duties to maintain the facilities and grounds


  • Travel, as needed, up to 80% (4/5 days week)


  • All other duties as assigned


You Have


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; or related field


  • Excellent supervisory and inter-personal skills


  • Strong written and verbal communication


  • Detail oriented


  • Good computer skills


  • Strong mechanical aptitude


  • Exposure to and good working knowledge of: AutoCad , Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel


  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the Production area. Could involve long periods of Computer work


  • Able to lift 40 lbs. continuously; and able to lift 70 lbs. occasionally with assistance


  • Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, kneeling. Crouching, crawling above, under and around machinery, equipment and conveyors continuously throughout entire shift


  • Reaching, handling, touching grasping machine parts, controls, control panels, levers, switches continuously while repairing machines


  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms and scaffolding to diagnose/troubleshoot machine and equipment occasionally


  • Ability to work in non-permit required confined spaces and at heights of 15’ to 20’


  • Physical effort required, continuous mental and visual attention required


  • 7 day a week operation; may require working more than 40 hours


  • The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens
