GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Kidz Korner is an after-school program for students with autism, down syndrome and other developmental disabilities looking for an enrichment program that will build on the group’s current interests and explore new ideas. The After School Program Leader takes the lead onsite at after school programs to ensure safe, appropriate after school services.       

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Ensures that all work is carried out in a manner that is both respectful and empowering to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.


• Oversees program staff, activities, supplies and schedules.


• Maintains communication with families, Program Coordinator and School Personnel.


• Plans, organizes, and participate in group activities.


• Completes and submits attendance records, staff time sheets and monthly program reports.


• Monitors the provision of services to ensure the safety and well being of all program participants.


• Provide updates in behaviors to Program Coordinator and participants parents as needed.


• Based on need, may be required to travel to other after-school program locations to fill in if short staffed.


• Maintains CPR/First Aid certification (every two years) and Handle with Care annually, along with other job requirements as necessary.


• Completes 6 professional development hours annually.


• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:           Bachelors or Associate Degree in Special Education or related field preferred.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:          Supervisory experience desired.   Minimum of two years experience in  working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities. Related course work or experience with children with challenging behaviors a plus.
