Job Title: Plant Operations Floater

Job Description Summary

Requires daily travel to any plant site to fill in as needed for assignments including plant operator, general labor work and operations of a loader and forklift.

Requirements


  • Must partner with Management/Production Team to ensure daily schedules are met.

  • Assignments may consist of all daily aspects of Dispatching, loading of Ready-Mix concrete, ensuring safe accurate and on-time delivery of product at any plant locations.

  • Maintain proper inventory levels to satisfy on demand production needs.

  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and environmental compliance records.

  • Work with Operations Support Supervisor to assure acceptable product quality control compliance.

  • Ability to always work safely in a lone worker environment.

  • Operate plant to load ready mix materials for delivery.

  • Willing to learn production software for batching (Command) and point of sale (UAS) systems.

  • Willing to learn/use a tablet for work time entry and other daily processes.

  • Operate Loader on rough terrain to fill plant with raw materials.

  • Ability to stockpile materials using loader in a safe and efficient manner.

  • The ability to oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment and plant.

  • Regular and predictable attendance required as an essential job function.

  • Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8+ hours.

  • Must be able to check truck and plant for maintenance needed and report deficiencies promptly.

  • Regular communication with Shop and grounds team on required maintenance needs for rolling stock, yellow iron, and fixed assets.

  • Complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly reports including site risk assessments, environmental testing, DVIR's and other required reports.

  • Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.

  • Willing to wait on customers and provide retail product sales as needed.

  • Willing to load and unload both external and internal customers with various building supply products.

  • Ability to assist plant maintenance team as needed in any aspect of plant fabrication or repair.

  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required.

  • Initiative to perform/assist in a team setting for job completion.

  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE)/Uniform policies and maintain individual PPE in functional condition as well as Truck camera/monitoring systems.

  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.

  • Must pass drug test and criminal background check.

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public always.

  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.

  • Strict adherence to Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as needed.

  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.

Education/Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

  • Must be able to work with Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft email, Word, and Excel.

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B preferred
