In this position, you will be working with colleagues to define and develop the next generation of robotic systems for The Toro Company's products in the areas of electrification, automation, connectivity and control. As part of the Toro Robotics Colorado team, this individual will contribute to industry-leading innovation and the development of technology that benefits both customers and the environment. This role will involve development of software/hardware platforms and robotic control systems for the purposes of developing products that safely perform various outdoor tasks autonomously.



What Will You Do?



In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:




  • Project and task leadership

  • Create and interpret technical specifications and documents.

  • Define problem statements, collect and analyze data for robotic systems.

  • Model control systems and write software for autonomous systems.

  • Program robotic systems for optimal performance.

  • Identify and research appropriate components for application in robotics.

  • Troubleshoot robotics systems and features.

  • Maintain accurate records, test results and documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned




What Do You Need?



To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:


  • 3 - 10+ years of experience in robotics or related field

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, electrical engineering. or mechanical engineering

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Proven software/programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems, Python a plus

  • Experience working with embedded systems and an understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS.

  • Familiarity with SVN, GIT, or other version control tools, working in a structured, revision-controlled software development environment.

  • Experience integrating multiple sensors and actuators on an embedded platform.

  • Familiarity with low-le

  • vel embedded technology and communications (e.g. UART, Ethernet, and CAN)

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Able to apply mathematical concepts.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Competitive Salary - The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $80000 - $120000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
