As a(n) Enterprise Infrastructure Mgr (Site Reliability Tools) within PNC's ET& S organization, you can sit within the PNC footprint, although it may not be available in all jurisdictions. Certain job responsibilities may require in-person, in office activities on a regular basis.

The Site Reliability Tools team is responsible for ensuring we have the monitoring and management tools that will provide the observability for all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure platforms and application technologies and services. This team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, development and oversight of new and existing applications for enterprise monitoring and event management.

The ideal candidate we are looking for is a senior engineering manager passionate about building and managing Observability Platforms. You'll help the team understand and address any potential gaps in functionality that matter to our customers and drive our tooling to evolve as the infrastructure and applications continue to scale. Additionally, this team empowers and teaches product, infrastructure, and data teams how to appropriately monitor features and services they own.

What you’ll be doing
• Manage and grow a team of engineers while contributing to the day-to-day technical work
• Establish the Site Reliability Tools team's vision and roadmap to support the evolving infrastructure and application strategies including the increased usage of Cloud Services
• Identify staffing needs, recruit for, and grow the team
• Partnering with the SRE team to drive automated capabilities and ensuring all infrastructure and application services are appropriately instrumented
• Execute the strategy to deliver an AIOps solution, enabling further automation, event correlation, and noise reduction

• Experience communicating trends and impacts to all management levels
• Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
• Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
• Experience of engineering Infrastructure and Application Monitoring platforms
• Engineering experience of leading the transformation an AIOps solutions.
• Experience with industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
• Experience with cloud system fundamentals (Kubernetes, Containers, Virtualization, Automation) and observability techniques for these platforms

  • Delivers products/services in alignment with business needs and objectives. Responsible for multiple teams or departments within the Enterprise Infrastructure function.

  • Contributes to infrastructure planning, development strategies/initiatives and product lifecycle/service orientation; determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs. Oversees portfolio/program/project management responsibilities. Directs financial management and risk management capabilities.

  • Contributes to stable and secure environment, incident management, product health/patching, and the asset management lifecycle. May communicate with vendors, suppliers and executive management to ensure availability of infrastructure technologies and support.

  • Implements best practices for technology architecture and management.

  • Directs, motivates, develops and oversees the performance of the management team and key staff.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
