Provide strategic selling direction for assigned region, including clinical product expertise. Field-based sales management position focused on attainment of Zimmer Biomet sales goals and objectives it relates to CMF & Thoracic Sales revenue targets.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with key surgeons to drive sales. Build on these relationships to help identify and champion surgeons for Zimmer Biomet faculty, product development, and surgeon panels. Local surgeon education and management of programs, including compliance. Coordinate with local Marketing for planned rollout • Direct region sales activities including leading the development of sales plans and to meet business growth objectives, while partnering with regional and national contracts regarding strategy and pricing approval. Develop business plans to achieve financial results, report on progress regularly, and develop actions plans to address underperformance. • Hire, coach, mentor and develop staff toward maximized performance. Recommend changes which support achievement of the regional sales objectives. • Demonstrate leadership while applying Zimmer Biomet Values and reinforce adherence to all laws and applicable Zimmer Biomet policies and SOPs regarding the interaction with HCP’s (Health Care Professionals), product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities and training. • Develop and maintain product line technical expertise and provide support to sales personnel and customers, including demonstration of Zimmer Biomet product capabilities, key features and advance applications. • Execute the strategic plan that is aligned with the corporate strategic plan including territory additions, potential changes in representation and identify any actions/investments that would allow for growth • Direct and influence the efforts of salespeople, hire and train new salespeople when needed • Provides input to the National Director of Thoracic Sales on quotas, inventory goals and discount guidelines for each region • In tandem with the Regional Sales Managers for CMF, holds Distributors, associates, and sales representatives accountable for their performance with respect to goals for quotas, inventory, and discounting • Assist distributor principals or sales representatives with determining appropriate sales objectives for each representative to increase penetration and adoption within existing accounts to build upon and grow existing business • Help identify new customers, contacts and opportunities • Prepare, review, and analyze various sales reports • Advise sales representatives of pricing guidelines • Assist with new product evaluation. • Identify contract expirations • Provide relevant customer and market information to Marketing in order to inform their efforts and strategies • Partner with the contracts manager to provide contracts that will support the growth of the business • Plan and conduct sales training meetings and make sales presentations when necessary • Develop relationships with KOL’s for future engagement • Attend industry trade shows and events as needed.

Expected Areas of Competence

• Extensive clinical product sales knowledge that leads to identification of market trends and sales strategies. • Understanding of Zimmer Biomet products, orthopedic industry and competitor’s products and strategies. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to communicate with, lead and influence others. • Demonstrated characteristics of high potential for future development opportunities. • Ability to communicate goals and objectives clearly via phone, written letter, or electronically with distributors, sales representatives, associate representatives, Doctors, nurses, scrub techs, purchasing agents, materials managers, “C” level executives, and home office personnel. • Able to build trust, respect and loyalty with Distributors, sales representatives and associates • Demonstrated knowledge of selling and servicing the customer in the OR, outpatient center, Dr.’s office and entire hospital. • Able to conduct training and workshops for Doctors, techs, nurses, sales representatives, distributors, and associates • Able to satisfy the requirements for obtaining access to a hospital, healthcare system, or other client site

Education/Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or technical discipline plus 8-10 years proven sales/marketing experience in the medical device industry (or related business) with a record of success in meeting sales targets in order to meet company objectives • Master’s degree preferred. • Extensive medical device knowledge • Preferred clinical experience in Thoracic, Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, or Trauma surgery.
