We have an available position for an experienced Electrical Engineer with high voltage switchgear and structures in heavy industrial manufacturing.

Position Description

The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:
 


  • Develop and provide clear, concise switching orders for all system changes including direction for establishing electrical safe work zones

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise to ensure equipment reliability and system improvement affecting both high and medium voltage applications.

  • Monitor plant high voltage power operation, including system line-up, production center requirement, and interface as necessary

  • Provide 24/7 failure response in the event of an immediate response system issue (using the help of in-house and contract resources) to return to full productivity in an expedient manner.

  • Provide detailed analysis on all high voltage related incidents.

  • Lead/support capital budget initiatives for the high voltage power system, prepare funding requests, provide expenditure projections, implement actions, and track execution.

  • Develop and implement multi-year maintenance plans.

  • Lead/support the design, rebuild, install, and commission of both new and revised equipment including, but not limited to transformers, high voltage switchgear, high voltage transmission line, and metering for specific high voltage equipment.

  • Provide support and audit of medium and high voltage safety protocol SPA to ensure compliance.

  • Responsible for electrical safety protocol across plant.

Qualifications

A successful engineer for this position will have the experience below:


  • BS in Electrical Engineering with specific emphasis on high voltage and power distribution systems.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Employs the use of theoretical and practical methods to achieve improvements or correct identified problems in an organized manner.

  • Successful experience using interpersonal communication while leading, managing, and executing electrical projects including design, installation, and commissioning.

  • At least 5 years of medium and high voltage maintenance and reliability experience.

  • Knowledgeable in Root Cause Problem Solving

  • Above Average proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
