Perform general accounting functions in order to support and maintain an effective accounting program

Key Roles & Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.  Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
• Perform audits of varying scopes and complexities
• Prepare accounting information to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Review and approve appropriate documentation
• Collect, review and analyze data to prepare consolidation statement.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications in Accounting with 3-4 years related work experience.

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and auditing standards
• Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, mainframe applications, and other office equipment

•Performs a variety of accounting activities including but not limited to:  journal entries, account reconciliations, and commodity settlements  •Applies appropriate accounting procedures and maintains effective internal controls•Completes accounting activities to maintain the books and records in accordance with GAAP•Prepares schedules and reporting to support the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes•Participates in new business initiatives and special projects as assigned•Participates in establishing new accounting processes and streamlining existing processes•Performs financial gas and power settlements, physical power settlements, exchange settlements and processing broker fees. •Participates in training to ensure compliance
