  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering or facilities experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in Facilities or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Previous aerospace or machine shop manufacturing experience preferred

Summary: Under general supervision, works with a staff of facilities and maintenance employees to improve production facilities, maximize the use of available space, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. This position involves working with staff, shift leaders, and the hourly workforce as directed by the Engineering or Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Able to lead the introduction of condition-based maintenance (CBM), reliability centered maintenance (RCM), planned preventative maintenance (PPM), total productive maintenance (TPM), and continuous improvement.
  • Manages the plant layout and facility diagrams.
  • Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc., and monitors the construction process.
  • Writing maintenance strategies to with installation and commissioning guidelines.
  • Utilize computerized system to oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs.
  • Liaison with all departments and other engineering and production colleagues to improve communication.
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
  • Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
  • Improving health and safety policies and procedures as they relate to Maintenance activities.
  • Lead and assist on projects assigned by City of Industry's supervisor or management team
  • May be required to assign, delegate and follow-up on maintenance work orders and support the technicians as necessary
  • Able to provide written repots
  • Able to work with EH&S as required to support the site's contractor safety program
  • Lead various special projects as assigned by Engineer and/or Operations Manager including but not limited to facility productivity improvement
  • Coordinate and oversee all facility maintenance activities including but not limited to: contractor services, SOW, PRA, Roof Permits, Maintenance part
  • ordering, PM program, and administration of Howmet's Express Maintenance system
  • Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Purchasing and other areas as required for all facility improvement RFA (e.g. electrical, roof, air compressor, etc.)
