Job Description:

Basic Job Functions:



The Mechanic role responsibilities include, but are not limited to: repairing and maintaining equipment mechanically and electrically in all areas of production, equipment inspections, equipment alignments, execution of preventative maintenance measures, pneumatic system troubleshooting, hydraulic system maintenance, and execution of overall improvements to the Fastener Division. Operation of heavy equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and jib cranes may also be necessary to repair, maintain, or move machinery and equipment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) year industrial maintenance degree or pursuing degree in related field, and/or five (5) years industrial maintenance experience


• Willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Leadership Experience


• Prior Mechanical Maintenance Experience


• Welding Experience: MIG, TIG, ARC, and stainless steel welding techniques


• Industrial Electrical Experience
