Arcosa Traffic Structures is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Production Manager for our plant located in Sumterville, FL. The Production Manager will report to the Plant Manager and establish functional business plans and technical project objectives to meet the short- and long-term goals of production. The Production Manager will manage production employees in various manufacturing or product development support departments. Additional management activities may include, but are not limited to, production operations activities, parts and components management, purchasing, contract management, sales and quality assurance.

What You’ll Do:
Implement strategic plans to improve production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility
Manage daily activities of production schedule in a job shop manufacturing environment
Prepare production schedules with attention to product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan operations
Actively participate in the evaluation of sales forecasts to determine production requirements
Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications
Monitor the project plan related to the flow of materials, inventory, and timing of manufacturing operations
Identify bottlenecks in the manufacturing process, analyze root cause, and provide/implement solutions
Work with all functional departments in the implementation of all continuous improvement activities associated with the manufacturing operations
Maintain the manufacturing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees to ensure a fully staffed and competent workforce
Mentor, coach and supervise staff and hourly personnel
Investigate and implement innovative methods of manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality of the product
Manage the manufacturing team to ensure that the operation maintains a safe and environmentally compliant work environment
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to design, specify and validate world-class manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality and capacity goals.
Drive manufacturing readiness for product launch and transfer to production
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred, or applicable experience
Minimum of 10 years of applicable Manufacturing Management experience (5 years minimum as supervisor and 5 years minimum as individual contributor)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience, knowledge or training of Lean Manufacturing methodologies with actual implementation background
