RESPONSIBILITIES

The NSA Summer Internship - Language and Analysis offers the opportunity for training in a multi-faceted cryptologic discipline. Specific skills obtained include: - Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of modern digital communications and network analysis - Skills in advanced analytic tools and techniques - Knowledge of the structure and processes of the IC through immersion in Signals Intelligence topics, projects and meetings - Skills in conducting independent and original research, document results, and communicate findings to help satisfy customer requirements. - Skills in systematically applying logic, creativity and judgement to the evaluation and use of intelligence. NSA is also hiring in the area of foreign language analysis. Foreign language proficiency combined with a wide array of majors and minors will be considered for this program. The 2022 program is hiring students with proficiency in Chinese, Farsi and Russian. Individuals with skills in less common languages are also encouraged to apply. The languages may change from year to year based on the Agency's projected hiring needs. PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
- Students are paid a competitive salary commensurate with their education level. - Receive annual leave, sick leave and paid federal holidays. - Participation in agency-wide extracurricular programs. - Students who attend school in excess of 75 miles from Ft. Meade, MD are eligible for a round trip airfare ticket to and from school or mileage reimbursement up to the cost of a government-issued airline ticket. Travel reimbursement will not be provided to our location in Hawaii. - Daily transportation to and from work is NOT provided. Students participating in the program are highly encouraged to bring a vehicle. Carpooling with other students MAY be available, but is NOT guaranteed. - Subsidized housing accommodations are available upon request if school is located in excess of 75 miles from NSA's main HQs campus. Housing accommodations are NOT provided for any of our field sites.
POSITION SUMMARY
Intelligence Analysis has the power to influence world affairs. The Intelligence Analysis mission encourages both independent and collaborative partnering (both within NSA and with other analysts in the Intelligence Community) while seeking creative solutions to analytical questions. Your skills in research, analysis, reporting, planning, and advising will ensure senior leaders are provided with time-sensitive cryptologic support for strategic and operational level planning across the full range of DoD and U.S. Government operations for integrated information and cyberspace operations. This wide array of skills helps protect U.S. government information systems and provides the most complete possible foreign signals intelligence picture to U.S. policy makers and military commanders.
