Job Summary

The Sales Engineer I is a key role in the sales function that has multiple roles to fill. The candidate must be able to work in a cross-functional team environment. The candidate shall work closely with the regional sales manager and other members of the team. The selected candidate will provide technical power continuity solutions in formal proposals and prepare the necessary documents to Project Administration for manufacture and purchase, after the proposal becomes an order.

Qualifications

The Sales Engineer I should possess business skills coupled with a basic knowledge of batteries, AC-DC rectifiers, DC-AC inverters, and AC-AC voltage regulators. The Sales Engineer I must be able to work efficiently to meet bid deadlines, with minimum guidance. The ability to meet strict deadlines is required. Bi-lingual language skills are a plus.

Specific Responsibilities

• Support customers, regional sales managers, and sales representatives in pre-sale activities.
• Assess potential application of AMETEK products and offer solutions that meet customer needs.
• Analyze customer specifications in detail, to determine the most appropriate solutions, and identify all areas to which technical exceptions must be taken.
• Provide support and knowledge of UPS products in industrial applications we serve.
• Create bid costing spreadsheets based on customer requirements.
• Generate proposals to include UPS products and peripheral systems components to include commercial terms, details regarding technical compliance and/or deviations from customer specification(s) and propose specific technical details.
• Review pricing, technical specifications on new orders.

• Participate in design and/or manufacturing team discussions to provide technical details to assist with solving problems.

• Assist the RSM in preparing formal proposals and budgetary quotes consistent with our Strategic Account agreements.
• Assist & support Sales, Channel Partners, Representatives, and Regional Managers in cost-effective product selection and in the recommendation of complete power protection systems.
• Assess potential application of company products and offer solutions that meet customer needs.
• Provide customer and field support through technical knowledge of products and their use in the industry.

• Consult with design and or manufacturing engineering on highly technical problems.

Experience

1-3 years of experience working with product applications, preferably in related markets or electrical applications.

Education

Associates degree in Engineering. Electrical Engineering and bachelor's degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements
