A Day in the Life

The Medtronic Americas Supply Chain (SC) Organization is undergoing a transformational change to better strategically align inventory management that will improve customer experience while reducing cost. As the Sr. Automation Program Manager, you will be responsible for the design and deployment of new warehouse processes that leverage cutting edge technology.

You will:


  • Lead member of a cross-functional team responsible for the design and deployment of new processes and warehouse automation.
  • Consult with 3PL partners to vet and deploy new automation solutions that drive efficiency and better customer experience.
  • Identify and implement projects within the existing Americas distribution network related to optimizing flow of finished goods, information, and funds. Supports the development of automation return on investment models and recommendations.
  • Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with external and internal to share relevant information. Responds effectively and efficiently to requests.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of organizational project implementation practices and tools to o versee the installation, modification, and upgrades of warehouse automation equipment.
  • Understand and explain principles of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to study and improve equipment reliability and/or overall process performance.
  • Leverage data analysis tools to explore moderately complex data, develops and tests hypotheses, uses data to influence strategic work, and builds and presents insights to influence decisions.
  • Engage with cross-functional team members on a periodic basis. Organizes thoughts and communicates confidently, credibly, and concisely within scope of work.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience in distribution automation deployments
  • 1+ years of supply chain experience in distribution automation design
  • 1+ years managing/supervising and/or coaching experience
  • 7+ years of supply chain experience in distribution, transportation, and trade operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic programs with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in the medical device or other regulated industry
  • Experience with developing, deploying and sustaining advanced analytics and scorecards.
  • Ability to travel up to 30 % of the time
