Laundry Environmental Aide at St. Paul's Senior Services

BASIC FUNCTION:  Responsibility for maintaining the facility's linen in a clean and quality condition at all times during assigned shift.



 



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be able to read, speak and write in English.  Must be able to understand regulations and laws governing housekeeping in health care and residential living facilities.  Able to work from a detailed written work schedule.  Able to perform work in a timely and quality manner.



 



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or its equivalency.  One year of professional housekeeping experience.



 



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Able to empty machines and transfer loads of wet laundry weighing 20 to 45 pounds into carts for placement  into dryers.  Able to transport a variety of laundry carts weighing between 80 to 150 pounds.  Able to regularly lift and carry light objects of less than 20 pounds, occasionally objects of up to 40 pounds.  Able to maneuver tools, equipment, carts through halls, up and down ramps, and in and out of elevators safely.  Able to bend, squat, and stoop to floor level.  Able to reach heights from 5 to 7 feet with appropriate aid of ladder and reach overhead.  Spend 60% of day walking, 28% standing, and 12% sitting.  Able to climb stairs.
