Summary:

The Director of Operations will have primary day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the Distribution Operations, which includes company run DCs and 3rd Party run DCs. Manages all inbound and outbound activity, overflow warehousing, value added production, order processing, shipping, and facility maintenance. This includes direct responsibility for receiving, inventory movement, inventory accuracy, production planning, order processing planning, customer order accuracy, employee safety and facility planning/maintenance.

Supply Source Enterprises is a global manufacturer and distributor of branded and private label PPE, commercial cleaning, maintenance, and safety products. The company caters to end markets of JanSan, foodservice, industrial/safety, office products and other resellers.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of DC operations, work order scheduling, work order processing, sales order scheduling, sales order processing, shipping, and local overflow warehousing functions of the organization.
  • Oversee relationships with 3rd Party Logistics companies where applicable
  • Provides leadership in the execution of short and long-term strategic supply chain plans to meet company objectives.
  • Manage KPI’s to achieve Continuous Improvement in all operations and evaluate investments into automation, labor management software, MHE and other.
  • Develop and manage processes for labor and facility capital budgets.
  • Control all spend and do not exceed DC operating budget.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to manage inventory accuracy and the quality inventory processing.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulatory laws and rules pertaining to plant operations.
  • Ensure OSHA record keeping meets requirements.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Provide necessary support to successfully integrate company acquisitions.
  • Develop design specifications, selection of contractors and manage building expansion projects.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field, along with 10+ years’ experience working in Distribution, Supply Chain, or a relevant field. Managing multiple DCs is strongly preferred. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of analytics, written and oral communication skills.

Other Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of Managerial Accounting. Experience in labor planning, cost control and capital budgets. PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of ERP, WMS and Labor management systems is preferred. A strong understanding of Industrial Engineering concepts is a highly desirable.
