Senior Financial Analyst at Chubb

The Chubb Global Services (CGS) group focuses on providing superior clients services to Chubbs’ multinational business for the entire suite of Chubb products. The CGS Finance group has overarching responsibility for global money movement, billing and collections of reinsurance and deductibles, reporting and overall multinational guidance and strategy.

Reporting Relationship:

The role will report to Chubb Global Services Manager of Financial Reporting with the understanding that the individual will be required to communicate directly with internal management and other interdepartmental groups such as Chubb Home Office Finance to resolve issues and provide ad hoc support when requested.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and assist in the managing of subledger and related general ledger balances, including in depth account reconciliations for assumed and ceded business. Work with international accounting staff to reconcile internal reinsurance bordereau business by analyzing premium, loss and brokerage balances submitted by international affiliated entities.

  • Analyze and resolve any intercompany out of balances with Chubb international entities.

  • Prepare and record monthly and quarterly journal entry transactions efficiently and accurately to enable reporting units to deliver timely, complete, and accurate financial reports.

  • Work with the team to identify issues, design modifications, and implement/execute project plans to improve financial groups processes and procedures.

  • Research and drive timely resolutions of accounting issues.

  • Analyze monthly GL accounting package, by reviewing and verifying accuracy of data to ensure proper accounting procedures are being followed.

  • Provide accurate and timely responses to both internal and external audit teams.

  • Ensure good internal controls are implemented, documented, and periodically tested.

  • Respond to and provide data requests.  Required is an understanding of relational database structures and use of query tools.

  • Provide technical support to business and operations groups when needed.

Desired Qualifications:    


  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 0 to 6 years insurance industry, accounts payable, treasury or finance/accounting experience.

  • Excellent communications skills, as well as demonstrated ability to persuade, negotiate and interface with various levels of internal and external management within a global environment.

  • Effective problem solving and analytical ability.

  • Ability to work effectively on a team to understand, develop and refine financial and operational processes.

  • Demonstrates individual commitment to quality, independence, and organization.

  • Knowledge and utilization of Microsoft products (Excel, Visio, Access, etc.).

  • Self-motivated and demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

  • Experience with Chubb applications such as Meridian/ FIRST is beneficial but not required.

  • Ability to speak multiple languages is beneficial, but not required.
