Work Schedule:

10% FTE, evening/night shifts. Per Diem Registered Nurses must commit to work a minimum of thirty-two (32) hours per four (4) week scheduling period in direct patient care. One shift must be an evening, night, weekend or holiday shift as applicable to operations. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered. We are seeking a Registered Nurse:


  • Work with a variety of neuroscience patients with neurological disorders and post neurosurgical cases ranging from elective spine surgeries to brain tumors or brain injuries.

  • We are a 25-bed unit with a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program and a Level 4 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

  • We have a dynamic multidisciplinary team of nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, coordinated care, Advanced Practice Providers and medical teams who provide high quality, evidence-based care.

Education:

Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Work Experience:

Minimum - One (1) year recent acute medical or surgical experience required.

Preferred - Recent ICU or neuro general care experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin. CPR certification. ACLS or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.

  • Experience in teaching patients and families.

  • Excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other nursing team members.

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
