Packing Supervisor 

Position Summary: 

The Packing Supervisor supports the Disposables Value Stream Manager in organizing packaging of completed product as well as coordination of sterilization shipments.  This will be done under the direction of the Value Stream Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures. 

Essential Functions: 

• 
  

  Follow all established procedures and standard practices for safety, GMP compliance, and value stream objectives and initiatives. 

  
  

• 
  

  Monitor packing functions within the value stream.  

  
  


• 
  

  Meet all established requirements for product quality. 

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure the cell meets the established production output goals. 

  
  


• 
  

  Actively support production associates and VS leadership by helping foster open communication as opportunities arise. 

  
  


• 
  

  Keep a clean, safe, and organized work area.   

  
  

• 
  

  Identify waste and communicate potential solutions using lean manufacturing concepts. 

  
  


• 
  

  Actively participate in problem identification and resolutions using PDCA or other method. 

  
  


• 
  

  Organize and verify sterilization load and related documentation. 

  
  


• 
  

  Work the necessary overtime to meet production schedule(s) to accomplish established SSL targets and meet customer demands. 

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain the proper Kanban levels and locations within the Value Stream. 

  
  

• 
  

  Assist Value Stream Leadership to meet KPI’s related to team performance.   

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance and maintain accuracy with GMP requirements and all operation/inspection procedures and device history records. 

  
  


• 
  

  Transact work orders in DataFlo and monitor product movement through the cell. 

  
  


• 
  

  Actively participate and champion all Lean Manufacturing improvement initiatives  

  
  


• 
  

  Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  Familiar with ISO and GMP requirements related to the Value Stream’s ability to produce product(s).

  Demonstrated proficiency in assembly operations

  Basic understanding of 5S, lean, and problem solving 

  
  

• 
  

  Ability to interface well with both internal and external customers

  Good communication and organizational skills

  Product and manufacturing process knowledge

  Must demonstrate flexibility.
