Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

We are seeking a ML Software Integration Engineer to join the Imaging and Intelligence Group at Intuitive Surgical. The Integration Engineer will work on developing and deploying products that help us invent the future of imaging-based intelligent robotic surgery. This position is primarily responsible for handling deployment and integration of Machine Learning algorithms with the da Vinci® platform.

Job Description:

You will be joining a team of Machine Learning engineers/scientists who are developing models that will run on the da Vinci® surgical robot. The Machine Learning Software Integration Engineer will be a hands-on developer who will help this team by writing C++ applications that run these models, connecting them to data streams from the robot and helping other teams process the model outputs. The engineer will use the various software libraries used on the da Vinci as well as gain an understanding of how the robot functions on the system/architectural level. The engineer will use script languages (e.g., bash, python) to interact with the robot system and to automate tasks for continuous integration and deployment.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with a minimum of five (5) years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of industry experience is preferred.




• Minimum 2 or more years of experience with development in C++ within a Linux environment is required.




• Minimum 2 or more years of experience working with Linux with a good familiarity with Linux OS design, command-line tools as well as building and running software using command-line.




• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash is a plus.




• Experience with build systems such as CMake is a plus.




• Experience with CUDA is a plus.




• Experience with CI/CD systems such as Github Actions/Gitlab/Jenkins is a plus.




• Experience with inference libraries such as TensorRT is a plus.




• A basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts is a plus.
