This role is a remote opportunity with travel to the home office in Deerfield, IL up to 3x a month

SUMMARY:

The position is primarily responsible for managing the product training associated with one or more products in Lundbeck's Psychiatry portfolio. This position will be responsible for creating and delivering sales training curriculum to the field sales organization. This position is expected to liaise internally with marketing, sales, market access, sales training and commercial operations team members and externally with alliance partners in order to develop a coordinated sales training strategy and approach for supported brands. This position will also need to seek input from these organizations to prioritize initiatives which will ultimately improve sales force effectiveness. In addition to training, this position will help develop and implement sales, marketing, leadership development and organizational initiatives, as needed. This position may be involved with budget management, vendor management, providing oversight to preceptors, and creating and executing the organization's training and development plan. Finally, this position ensures that all promotional activities are in accordance with operational guidelines, and aligns initiatives with Lundbeck's core values and actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Manages, designs and delivers sales training curriculum to the field sales organization focused on increasing disease state, product knowledge and/or selling skills.

  • Regularly assesses the sales force and sales management training needs by observing individual Account Manager performance/behaviors, and collaborating with the appropriate functional areas.

  • Participates and leads in strategic projects designed to fulfill the needs of the field sales force. These projects include continuous collaboration with all relevant support departments: marketing, clinical, regulatory, IT, sales operations, commercial analytics, etc., and include but are not limited to new product launches, new marketing directives, new indication launches, new positioning directives, etc.

  • Builds training with with the 6 Disciplines in Learning in mind.

  • Analyzes and assesses training effectiveness to determine when revisions, enhancements, or new programs should occur, and receives recommendation/input from the team. Provides input to Training Leadership.

  • Reviews department reports, sales trainee evaluations and any other reports that trainers are required to complete.

  • Develops and implements evaluations to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training, and provides metrics for management review.

  • Acts as main point of contact for sales and marketing teams in regards to: 1) day-to-day operations of training, and 2) the development of new training initiatives, or supporting changes in direction of existing training initiatives.

  • Manages alliance partnerships working in collaboration to develop and execute training initiatives.

  • Ensures that all training materials are updated prior to expiration and are built and delivered within compliance guidelines.

  • Supports new hire orientation through delivery of training and development content.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:


  • Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree

  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry

  • Psychiatry experience but not limited to sales or training experience

  • Ability to develop and facilitate training classes and workshops

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, both oral and written

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in individual and team settings

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Power Point, Word, Excel)

  • Excellent planning, organization and project management skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


  • Master's/MBA

  • Product or sales management experience

  • Project management and specialty representative experience

  • Experience in sales training

TRAVEL


  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 20% domestically. International travel may be required.

The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of New York, Colorado and Connecticut, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $115,000 - $145,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
