Summary: The Graduate Civil or Geotechnical Engineer will provide support on various geotechnical and civil engineering projects including alternative energy and the petroleum industry in West Texas and New Mexico. Primary responsibilities include to assist with geotechnical field investigations, data review and report preparation as required. Additional responsibilities could also include assistance with construction monitoring and testing, environmental compliance program support, engineering support of waste management and remediation projects, hazardous site assessment support, permitting and regulatory compliance, and due diligence when needed.

Your Role:

The following duties will be required upon completion of training and with oversight as required:


  • Conduct and supervise field work and reporting for the engineering design including field testing and sample/data collection.
  • Review and analysis of geotechnical analytical laboratory data.
  • Geotechnical design with the Engineer.
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Oversight of geotechnical related construction monitoring and testing.
  • Develop work plans, reports and proposals for various types of geotechnical and structural foundation investigations and assessments.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:


  • B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from a four-year ABET accredited engineering program required. M.S. in Engineering is a plus.
  • 1-5 years of geotechnical or construction engineering or related experience is preferred.
  • Experience in construction management is a plus. Experience in the oil and gas industry is plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (TX/NM).
  • Candidate must be highly motivated; customers focused and work well in a team environment.
  • Candidate must also have the ability to lead project tasks with a heavy workload.
  • Must possess personal interaction, communications and organizational skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience with design and modeling software (i.e. Geo-Slope, Seep/Slope modeling or similar, AutoCAD, Civil 3d, etc.) is a plus.
  • Candidate must be able and available for travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers' license in good standing.
  • Travel and overnight stay will be required. 50% to 75% travel will be required for first year of employment. After the first year, field work may reduce by as much as 50%.
