Strategic Planning - Market Research Advisor

Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Strategic Planning matters, often requiring coordination across the enterprise. Performs research, market and product analysis and modeling used in analysis of opportunities, market segmentation, business plan development, and performance analysis and evaluation of capabilities. The position must have an in depth understanding of behavioral health, payer and employer business processes and the competitive landscape and have experience developing ideas and ensuring they successfully execute within an organization when managed by cross functional business partners. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

Role & Responsibilities

Meet directly with stakeholders on a regular basis to understand future state opportunities of strategic focus, utilize prioritization models to evaluate the value of implementing existing and potential market focused opportunities across strategic distribution channels. Review market data to isolate past trends for related products or competitor products. Interpret data into written reports, infographics, charts or other types of visual aids to present research results. Support the development of business strategic five year roadmap and ensure alignment to the current and future solution set.


  • Performs market segment competitive intelligence research and analysis to evaluate emerging opportunities

  • Creates presentation materials and presents and prioritizes complex and challenging business issues to management and business unit heads

  • Supports the most strategic go-to-market opportunities, cross-functional initiatives with support from the Project Management Office, not limited to new markets, products or capabilities

  • Cultivate opportunities to capture voice of customer, represent voice of customer as the Go To Market representative at internal meetings

  • Participate in client opportunity management, including evaluating new client requests against strategic priorities and current solutions sets.

  • Reviews work and delivery progress and concepts created by others and provides recommendations for improvements and alignment to strategic needs

  • Motivates and inspires other team, acts as an agent of change within the organization

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 7+ years of industry experience, or 10-15 years related business experience

  • Health Care Experience required

  • Startup experience preferred

  • Communication skills for gathering and interpreting data and presenting the results to the company or clients.

  • Project Management, Agile experience and demonstrated prioritization skill set required

  • Strong, detail oriented organizational and analytical skills

  • Excellent PC skills - including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access, experience with Jira, RallyDev or an agile software preferred

  • Excellent relationship building and cross functional skills

  • Travel up to 10%

  • Ability to work cross functionally to resolve complex issues

  • Ability to manage through change, multiple timelines and meet tight deadlines.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $82,300 - $137,100, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
