Job Description:

PRN 7p-7a


The Braselton Emergency Department (ED) has 21 treatment rooms with the ability to expand treatment space (hallway beds) in case of patient surge.


The department fulfills the following responsibilities:


  • Assessing patients' healthcare needs, stabilizing as is possible, and evaluating those patients with life threatening conditions, providing services immediately indicated.

  • Establishing and maintaining necessary training programs to provide emergency department and community personnel with the basic skills to intervene in life threatening situations

  • Communicating the availability of follow-up care as provided by the hospital or other community health care services.




REQUIREMENTS:



  • Current EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • EMT with at least one year of experience providing direct care to patients in the pre-hospital, ED, or Office environment preferred. Must have documented experience and proficiency in peripheral venous sampling and IV Access




A DAY IN THE LIFE INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TOO:


  • A unit-based Technician that will provide direct assistance in patient care of diverse ED patient population.

  • This position will also be directly responsible to perform duties such as Point of Care Testing, General Phlebotomy, and Sample Collection.

  • Within the scope of practice of the EMT Intermediate/Advanced, Promotes and establishes criteria for the delivery of quality care. Under the direction of Licensed Nursing Staff aids and performs care within the scope of practice.

  • This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

  • Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
