The Braselton Emergency Department (ED) has 21 treatment rooms with the ability to expand treatment space (hallway beds) in case of patient surge.
The department fulfills the following responsibilities:
Assessing patients' healthcare needs, stabilizing as is possible, and evaluating those patients with life threatening conditions, providing services immediately indicated.
Establishing and maintaining necessary training programs to provide emergency department and community personnel with the basic skills to intervene in life threatening situations
Communicating the availability of follow-up care as provided by the hospital or other community health care services.
REQUIREMENTS:
Current EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia
High School Diploma or GED
EMT with at least one year of experience providing direct care to patients in the pre-hospital, ED, or Office environment preferred. Must have documented experience and proficiency in peripheral venous sampling and IV Access
A DAY IN THE LIFE INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TOO:
A unit-based Technician that will provide direct assistance in patient care of diverse ED patient population.
This position will also be directly responsible to perform duties such as Point of Care Testing, General Phlebotomy, and Sample Collection.
Within the scope of practice of the EMT Intermediate/Advanced, Promotes and establishes criteria for the delivery of quality care. Under the direction of Licensed Nursing Staff aids and performs care within the scope of practice.
This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
