Responsibilities



The primary responsibility of the Data Transformation Analyst- Quality and Benchmarking is to be a liaison between individual sitesacross WellStar and the Enterprise Intelligence (EI) Team. He/she ensures that the systems and processes owned by EI areunderstood by end users, is accurate and represents the correct information. These systems and processes will be focused on thehospital quality benchmarking tool but can be expanded to the clinical cost accounting tool, the patient experience monitoringprocess, information available in other systems.


The Data Transformation analyst - Quality and Benchmarking reports to the Manager of Data Transformation and supports thecoordination efforts of the Senior Data Transformation Analyst.


This individual will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Quality and Benchmarking tools including the data that isavailable, the processes for the use of the data, interpretation and reporting of the information that is available.This individual is responsible for helping the sites by providing information that they need for performance improvementopportunities by mining the data in the various systems owned by EI. He/she will work closely with Site Personnel and buildreports to support Operational, Financial and Quality needs and will need to become a valued member of the Team.


Key responsibilities include:• Work with team members from across the organization (including Safety and Quality, Operations, WellStar leadership,accounting/finance, IT) to ensure that data feeding the processes supports the team's needs and WellStar's informationneeds• Serve as an educational resource for the reporting• Provide data that is required by sites from the Quality and benchmarking tool• Support other parts of Enterprise Intelligence with timely high-quality information delivery• As a SME, stay current with industry trends regarding the role's areas of responsibilities• Nurture and promote adherence to WellStar data governance standards within the organization and team


The success of this position is highly dependent on coordination with upstream sources of information, effective management, andcoordination of the data enhancement team, and meeting downstream customer data and educational needs regarding areas ofresponsibilities.

Qualifications




Required Minimum Education:BS or BA Degree RequiredEducational background in a technical field, information technology, clinical field or business or related work experience areall desirable in the role



Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: N/A



Required Minimum Experience:2+ years with related experience in a healthcare environment2+ years working with complex data sets in a relational database environment with tools such as SQL Server, MS Access,MS Excel, and other 3rd party visualization tools



Required Minimum Skills:Strong aptitude toward understanding technology concepts and techniques and learning to use new data management andpresentation toolsetsFamiliarity with SQL or other common query language recommendedAdvanced skills working with relational database structures and concepts and advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Access)skillsFamiliarity with common statistically appropriate means of data and process analysisPersonal desire for continuous knowledge and skill growth and development.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy and a sense of personal accountability.Self-motivated and well organized with strong time management skills.Ability to work independently or in a team environment and act as a mentor to less experienced team members.Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
