Responsibilities


Test engineering technician to support the tractor validation process in tractor product development


  • Diagnose, repair and document issues found on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components on Ag machinery or test systems

  • Perform assembly and fit-up during assembly of prototype units and provide technical feedback to appropriate engineers, along with any proposals for improvement in ease of manufacturing

  • Operate electronic service tool for vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting and update vehicle software on test vehicles using laptops and telematic equipment

  • Execute whole vehicle and/or component level tests in lab, track, and field environments

  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities of assigned cell areas, test equipment, instrumentation & tools

  • Travel to customer and dealer sites as needed




Qualifications


Required:


  • 2 yr. technical degree in Diesel, Electronic or Automotive technology, or minimum of 3 years' experience in related position

  • Hands-on experience operating/repairing and maintaining on/off-road vehicles

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical control systems and sensors

  • Read and interpret technical engineering documents and drawings

  • Operate overhead cranes, fixtures, rigging and forklifts

  • Operate computers and using Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)





Preferred:


  • 4-year Ag Technology / Ag Systems Management or similar degree

  • Agricultural background and/or passion for off-road equipment

  • Knowledge of tractor systems (and/or other off-road equipment) and operation

  • Experience in precision farming practices

  • Experience selecting, calibrating, and installing and test instrumentation (load cells, pressure transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples, flowmeters, etc.) with data acquisition tools (DEWESoft, CANalyzer or similar)

  • Ability to conduct technical hands-on and analytical tasks with little supervision

  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external collaborators

  • Available to travel (5-10%), including internationally if required
