Position Overview:
This position is a key Business Technology resource for ensuring the availability, performance and scalability of the Compeer technology portfolio. The incumbent serves as a liaison between the development and operations teams and by leveraging automation will work to improve team efficiency and reduce toil. Focuses on system monitoring, support triage, building automations and improving documentation.


Essential Functions:


  • Works closely with developers and operations team members when issues arise to assist with troubleshooting and provide consultation when alerts are issued.

  • Investigates and resolves issues and/or helps route issues to the appropriate teams.

  • Builds automation tools to help operations and support teams function more efficiently.

  • Writes and develops code to automate log analysis, testing production environments and responding to production issues.

  • Builds and configures software to manage platform infrastructure including infrastructure orchestration.

  • Ensures the underlying infrastructure is running smoothly and systems and tools are working as expected.

  • Monitors critical applications and services to minimize downtime and ensure availability.

  • Measures and optimizes system and application performance with an eye toward pushing capabilities forward.



Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with multi-platform enterprise environments.

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Microsoft Azure Administrator.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Server Technologies (including SharePoint, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange, SCCM and Windows Server Operating Systems).

  • Knowledge with leading cloud providers such as Azure, AWS and Google.

  • Knowledge with scripting languages such as Powershell, Ruby, Python as well as a familiarity with infrastructure automation platforms such as System Center Orchestrator and ActiveBatch.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure orchestration tools such as Puppet or Terraform.

  • Strong organizational, decision making, and written/verbal communication skills. Presentation skills for one-on-one and/or group presentations.

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to translate highly technical information into nontechnical terms.

  • Understanding of the leading cloud infrastructure platforms such as MS Azure, Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.

  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation of complex systems.

  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement and performance bottlenecks.

  • Valid driver's license.
