Summary of Role:



Intern / Co-op position as part of the GlobalFoundries (GF) worldwide Modelling organization supporting SiGe BiCMOS and RFCMOS Semiconductor Technologies for High-Speed applications in the growing Mobile & Wireless, high-performance Computing industries.


GlobalFoundries is seeking a self-driven, highly motivated student to develop automation & analysis tools to enhance Compact-models, and their correlation to hardware data measured with state-of-the-art RF/mmWave test equipment.


The applicant will be a member of an established technical team, driven by collaborative innovation & creative problem solving, and will operate under the direction & supervision of a senior lead engineer.



Essential Responsibilities Include:



  • Critical thinker with strong statistics and mathematical background.

  • Advanced skills in computer science & programming languages - Python (required); C/C++, Matlab/R or Perl (required) - to automate compact-models' simulations and their correlation to measured hardware.

  • Basic knowledge of modern device physics - FET, BJT, HEMT device structures.

  • Basic knowledge on response surface models and Design of Experiment (DOE) planning.


Other Responsibilities:



  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs






Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics

  • Background in Semiconductor Device physics, Probability & Statistics

  • Effective communication skills, both written & verbal


Preferred Qualifications:



  • M.Sc. student on PhD track in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.

  • Advanced Math's skills

  • Understanding of high-frequency measurement systems to characterize RF/mm-wave ICs

  • Experience working with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) design & simulation tools for RF/mmwave applications.

  • Embrace the "push the envelope" approach, while living naturally-curious lives and enjoying the process to venture into uncharted waters.
