NYC Ferry is seeking an Engineering Project Coordinator.

About the Opportunity:

As an Engineering Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring NYCF Engineering projects are properly planned, completed, and recorded.  This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, starting at $65,000/year.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service

System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Accept and perform tasks as giving by Director of Engineering.

  • Travel to local shipyard facilities for oversight of vessel repairs and maintenance.

  • Lead USCG through Inspections and ensure vessel is prepared for Inspection including initial surveys of vessel.

  • Create detailed repair plans for contractors or NYC Ferry personnel to perform and submit for USCG approval.

  • Coordinate with contractor on timing and performance of repairs.

  • Coordinate 3rd party vendor repairs and maintenance if contracted.

  • Create detailed reports of repairs performed including images and explanations of repairs, to be submitted to Director of Engineering.

  • Ensure necessary materials are on-hand for project which can include picking up materials. Ensure materials follow the appropriate specifications in accordance with drawings and regulatory requirements.

  • Create cost and time estimates for project.

  • Ensure vessel is prepped for departure including startup of main engines and electrical generation plants.

  • Submit reimbursement paperwork as necessary and liaison with EDC, or their representative, as needed.

  • Maintain inspection schedules for USCG and appropriate equipment.

  • Administer warranty program and liaison with construction and design team.

  • Present professional level of customer service and appearance to all – internal and external.

  • Demonstrate RESPECT Values and QUEST Hospitality Behaviors with internal and external riders.

  • Hold yourself and all crew accountable to the Environmental, Safety, Security and Quality Respect and systems of the organization and work to support the HSSQE team to implement such systems, plans, and control of records and documentation.

  • Advise Supervisor or Human Resources any changes of name, address, or work status as it affects your compensation, benefits, or employment.

  • Accurately complete all documentation including payroll, time sheets, revenue reports, paperwork, and invoices on a timely basis.

  • Know and understand internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to your position and department.

  • Additional job duties as assigned

 Requirements & Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in the marine industry required

  • At least 2 years of experience in a service and/or operation setting

  • Strong experience with maintenance tracking software

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
