Responsibilities




  • Handles all purchasing activity for multiple current product development programs.

  • Programs: Support function for new product launch initiatives while developing and implementing cost reduction and sourcing strategies through leveraging parts for new platforms to meet program timing, cost, quality, delivery, and strategic objectives.

  • Support the Current Product Manager and Margin Improvement Team in the early supplier involvement to facilitate and speed up the introduction of changes requirements to improve the final Customer Experience and reduce the relevant main CPM critical metrics like F100/ACPU and Time to Fix.

  • Creates, forecasts, and carries out sourcing and tooling plans in conjunction with Central Purchasing to ensure product launch meets all program targets for quality, cost, and timing.

  • Accountable for all direct material cost of the current product.

  • Increases supplier value through R&D, co-design, and innovation.

  • Has decision making authority on all sourcing decisions for new product.

  • Holds suppliers accountable to commitments and project work independently and takes the appropriate steps to escalate when required.

  • Manages negotiation and implementation of all technical modifications .

  • Drives the identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities

  • Negotiates, implement and manage LTA's (long term agreements) while achieving commercial savings and raw material recovery in order to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives and while supporting organizational initiatives. Facilitates supplier/engineering VA/VE activities in order to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives to achieve budget performance.

  • Provide leadership in and develop an understanding of and insight into the market for the commodities assigned; including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives. Track, monitor, and execute hedges at optimal raw material market conditions to minimize risk.

  • Responsible for Parts & Service management for these associated products.

  • Supports Material Management, Lifecycle, and Sales and Marketing to achieve cross-functional targets related to revenue, margin, delivery, and quality



Annual compensation range is $91,300 - $132,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role).


Qualifications




  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field along with a minimum of 6 years of purchasing experience.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% - domestic and international (majority of travel will be domestic)
