Sr. Financial Analyst at alphabroder

Job Description:

Without knowing it, millions of people wear apparel and accessories distributed by alphabroder. Consumers may not recognize the company's name, but clothiers and promotional agencies certainly do. Whether the item is a company golf shirt, a T-shirt from a rock concert or a souvenir shirt from a vacation destination, chances are it has passed through one of our many Distribution Centers across North America.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial and operational analysis used to support management decision making processes and will work closely with all members of the senior financial management team.  The successful candidate must possess very strong analytical and data management skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and must exercise sound judgment and use his/her own initiative.


 

Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions, which must be performed in order to carry out the purpose of the position as described above:


  • Use the company’s data warehouse and business performance management systems to create routine and non-routine management reports.

  • Perform complex analysis and modeling to assess operational performance and profitability along multiple dimensions, including by customer, by product and by initiative.

  • Perform detailed analysis for various business functions such as pricing, sales and marketing to provide timely and meaningful feedback and to maintain control and accountability. 

  • Prepare presentations for senior management, the board of directors, key suppliers, the bank syndicate, and others.

  • Collect data and perform analyses to assess the success of corporate initiatives.  Prepare ROI models.

  • Facilitate the budgeting process.

  • Support all functional departments with financial analysis and data, and participate in other special projects as needed.

  • Serve as a member of the Finance team providing assistance as needed.

Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position. Identify specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications.


    • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, finance, accounting, engineering or mathematics. 

    • 3 - 5 years’ experience with increasing responsibility of performing detailed analysis for management in support of decision-making.

    • Strong analytical, quantitative and data management skills, with the ability to look at information creatively and develop proposals for process improvements based on findings from the data.

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data management required.  Working knowledge of Business Objects or other data warehouse system, Microsoft Access and PowerPoint are also required.

    • Knowledge of Tableau and NetSuite preferred but not required.

    • Strong verbal/written communication skills.

    • Must be a team-oriented individual who works well with others in various levels and departments, including Sales, Pricing, Distribution, and Information Technology.

    • Energetic, motivated, and self-directed.

Previous positions that are necessary background experience to qualify for this position.

Prior experience in a financial analysis role or as a business or as an operations or business consultant.
