Job Description:

The Hardware Design Engineer position will be responsible for architecture, designing and developing the electrical hardware of new and derivative camera products. As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative video collaboration products. You must be responsible, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test.


You will be responsible for the schematic and PCB design. In addition, you will also act as system integrator, and take the cross-functional engineering team through the development process. You will be responsible for the overall Hardware performance including video, audio, power, etc.; as well as leading the product through certification and mass manufacturing etc.


This position is an onsite role, and you will be expected to work primarily from our Cupertino facility.



Job Responsibilities:


• Architect solutions for new Cameras and Subsystems


• Deliver schematic capture, PCB Layout, design reviews, and electrical BOM release


• Drive the team through the concept / design / optimize & validation phases of the project


• Work with Software teams on device bring-up and development


• Work on Product Design and mechanical integration


• Work with the operations team on manufacturing test development and contract manufacturers


• Travel to support engineering builds (10%-20% max)


• Analyze, validate, and characterize hardware design


• Drive the design through the certification process for different markets


• Be accountable for delivering on schedule and meeting the performance, features and quality requirements for the project



Basic Qualifications:



• Bachelor's degree in EE


• 4+ years of hardware design experience as Electrical Engineer on portable consumer electronic devices, with proficiency with digital embedded systems and analog design


• 2+ years of experience performing bring-up, debug, validation and optimization of systems



Preferred Qualifications



• Master's degree in EE Advanced Cadence Orcad and Allegro design tool experience


• Experience in working with Image sensors/lenses for video camera products


• Proficiency with Design for Cost and Design for Manufacturing


• Familiar with compliance standards such as FCC, EMC, ESD, 3GPP, CDG


• Familiarity with low speed serial buses such as I2C, SPI, UART protocols


• Familiarity with high speed buses such as LPDDR4, MIPI PHY-D, USB


• Experience with audio, wireless, battery, and power management


• Familiarity with low speed serial buses such as I2C, SPI, UART protocols


• Strong analytical skills including basic statistical analysis


• Adept with MS office including Excel


• Team leadership experience
