Job Summary

The Vice President of Finance and Accounting role is expected to provide strategic leadership and tactical direction to the finance and accounting functions for the purpose of building world class reporting and planning infrastructure capable of informing day to day business decisions. The role is also expected to be an integral member of the senior leadership team of the company, with especial responsibility to define and implement financial budgeting and controls to enable the execution of the company strategy.

Essential Functions


  • Integrate strategic operational plan into a forecasting and budgeting framework to ensure the capital needs of the business are known.

  • In partnership with the extended leadership team, drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.

  • Lead the development of a solid cost-accounting methodology capable of producing operationally segmented P&Ls for the purpose of informing business decisions relating to basic P&L management including spending and product lifecycle management as well as pricing.

  • Ensure that operational controls are adequate to safeguard the assets of the business.

  • Partner with the leadership team to assess the ERP needs of the business, work to select a system suited to the needs of the business, and to project manage a significant portion of the subsequent implementation.

  • Design, implement, and lead a strong cross-functional pricing practice that enables agile data-driven pricing decisions.

  • Partner with senior leadership team to build returns-based proforma financial statements for the purpose of qualifying organic new business ventures.

  • Partner with CEO on performing due diligence on M&A activity and in leading the subsequent integration of finance and accounting systems, tools, and talent.

Qualifications and Requirements


  • Minimum 5+ years of strong operational experience as a Finance or Accounting leader in a Consumer Products and or Manufacturing business (Required)

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous people management experience.

  • Skilled in building financial statement architectures, including detailed cost accounting methodologies, and in designing and implementing effective budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.

  • Experience in evaluating and/or implementing ERP systems.

  • Experience leading a pricing function and/or enabling P&L owners to make market and data-informed pricing decisions.

  • Experience conducting forensic financial due diligence as part of an M&A evaluation process.

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.

  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the company mission.

  • Flexible and able to multi-task; work in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

Education


  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field

  • Masters degree in Business or Finance preferred
