We are seeking a full-time Software Quality Assurance Analyst for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for working with software development teams to ensure compliance to regulatory and internal standards through certification of Garmin software releases by preparing certification documentation, and/or by conducting software quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Conducts and/or supports efforts to ensure life cycle data is compliant with RTCA DO-178B/DO-178C (Aviation) and ASPICE (Automotive) requirements, including the successful closure of SQA audits and completion of required documents
Drafts software certification plan documents and supports high level software product testing as needed
Modifies and/or develops scripts to aid in the completion of documents and audits
Participates in the maintenance of software standards and forms
Proposes solutions to issues that arise in document completion or audit closure
Collaborates and adds value to software process and certification and offers process improvement suggestions
Conducts research for root cause analysis for selected software issues, in the areas of requirements, testing or process
Works with Engineering teams to negotiate resolutions for issues found in SQA functions
Applies standards and procedures using appropriate engineering tools in an organized manner
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience in at least one of the following areas: software development processes, process auditing and/or Aviation software regulatory documentation
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Must be detail-oriented with the ability to maintain and deliver a high level of quality and accuracy with superior organizational and analytical skills
Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Word & Excel
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Past or current Software DER for RTCA DO-178B/DO-178C or equivalent role in TSO compliance finding for software
Experience in software development/verification
Software root cause analysis experience
