Position Overview

This is a skilled position as an experienced Project Manager involving the oversight of large civil construction projects and coordination with subcontractors and crews. Scheduling for all facets of the project including labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials. Also responsible for job cost and profit awarded projects.

WAGE RANGE: $95,000 to $110,000 dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, work order.

  • Prepare preliminary schedule for planning purposes and detailed approach to the project based on final plans and specifications.

  • Consult with clients, vendors, and others to discuss and formulate schedules and resolve issues.

  • Maintain current and accurate information on job costs and pay quantities.

  • Physically measure, compile quantities, and formalize pay estimates for projects.

  • Participate in the bidding process.

  • Manage all facets of projects awarded.

  • Check daily cost sheets for correctness, compliance with estimated cost, and if over budget, find out why and report to management.

  • Prior to job startup, review with the project superintendent the project plans and specifications.

  • Assist Estimating by providing feedback on job progress compared to estimate.

  • Applicant must be willing to travel.

  • Applicant needs to be able to use a laptop computer/ iPad or similar device.


Qualifications

Education/Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field preferred.

  • Five years civil construction experience is preferred; or an equivalent of education and experience will be accepted

Work Requirements


  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to implement written and oral instructions

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
