Job Description:

SUMMARY

Design, analyze and document the structural integrity of detail, component, assembly, and installation drawings for commercial helicopter systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.


  • Work involves analyzing and modeling/designing new and existing designs for all components of the helicopter including metallic/composite structure and mechanical subsystems.

  • Performs preliminary structural analysis of both metallic and composite structures used in aerospace applications.

  • Must have some working knowledge of static and dynamic analysis.

  • Analyses include hand and computer aided calculations.

  • Ability to work in a team environment to support engineering goals and objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned to include production support and repair station support.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Knowledge of basic CAD modeling and drafting practices.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge in MATHCAD and/or FEA software is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and internal customers.

  • Must possess good communication skills.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be enrolled in a Mechanical/Aerospace Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) program from an accredited four-year college or university.

Must have completed at least 2 years of a Mechanical/Aerospace engineering program.

  • Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
