Job Description:

SUMMARY

Keeps assigned facility in a clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Adheres to all safety regulations including, but not limited to, rubber gloves, caution signage and masks.

Cleans assigned rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and locker rooms and other work areas by performing the following function:

Sweeps and mops all floor

Cleans and polished lighting fixtures, counter surfaces and trim.

Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.

Vacuums, shampoos, and extracts rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture.

Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork.

Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.

Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays.

Transports trash and waste to disposal area.

Replenishes bathroom supplies on a regular basis when open to the public.

Reports to maintenance all needed repairs. Notifies maintenance of replacement light bulbs needed and location.

Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Sets up tables and chairs as requested.

Returns all supplies and equipment to their proper storage area at the end of each shift.

Does routine maintenance on equipment as needed.

Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

SOCIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be licensed by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission
