The Program Design Lead will join an entrepreneurial and dynamic team responsible for program co-design and facilitation in IIE's capacity as a primary partner to the Ford Foundation on the Ford Global Fellowship which aims to connect and support the next generation of social justice leaders who are advancing innovative solutions to end inequality. The Ford Global Fellowship Program is a 10-year, $50 million dollar commitment by the Ford Foundation to create a dynamic, participatory and impactful global fellowship program. The program is still in its nascent development and the team is looking for a creative and collaborative program designer interested in exploring different models of engagement and testing traditional boundaries. The role includes partnering with Ford Foundation, Fellows, program implementation partners and other stakeholders to continue to co-design and implement a Fellowship experience and Community of Practice. The Program Design Lead will be a primary point of contact for the Ford Foundation and Fellows, partnering to ground the Fellowship in transformational leadership and organizational development theoretical frameworks and lived experience with putting those frameworks into practice. Program Design Lead will be a primary facilitator in group meetings and discussions.



Essential Functions
:

Contribute to the continued and proactive co-design, development and refinement of the Fellowship program arc/cycle and related elements with Fellows and Ford program leads to identify strategies to support the work of addressing inequality.

Design and facilitate a range of sessions employing different tactics and modalities with a variety of stakeholders including the program implementation team, Fellows and Ford, Fellows and others.

Support and nurture building the full Community of Practice.

Conceptualize and write internal program briefing documents articulating the theoretical concepts, tactical implementation and related assumptions of various program activities, both independently and in collaboration with others.

Lead the IIE team dedicated to this program and work closely with sub-contracted partners and other Ford-contracted partners.

Oversee and lead IIE's contract with the Ford Foundation.



Job Requirements
:

Education and Work Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.

Requires at least five years of related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Master's in Organizational Development, Social Work, Education or related field preferred with 8-10 years of related experience preferred.

Significant experience working with individuals and communities in the global south who have experienced systemic and structural injustices.

Deep understanding of manifestations of inequality, practices for disrupting it, and related literature.

Experience/knowledge in collective co-design practices, especially around how to cultivate practices for sharing power and implementing distributive leadership.

Theoretical and tactical experience in adult, leadership and organizational development, social justice issues and building communities of practice.

Experience and ability to lead complex teams and work with multiple stakeholders while holding a global lens on all work, including a demonstrated ability to create inclusive, equitable groups in which both diverse participants and all team members feel valued.

Group facilitation skills and experience including deep competence and multiple layers of skills facilitating diverse groups across cultural, gender, racial and political differences, including holding space for generative conflict and creative tension within a virtual and in-person context.

Excellent writing and communication skills.
