Job Description:

Cigna is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help implement the new core administrative platform intended to support all enrollment and claims operations.

In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing a DevOps strategy to ensure continuous, quality software deployments and overall application health and performance. Optimizing relationships between the engineering, quality assurance, infrastructure and IT operations teams. Promoting communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software development productivity. Developing infrastructure to incorporate latest technology best practices and improve operational performance.

You will also be responsible for the strategy, planning, standards, design, implementation, support and performance of DevOps Automation solutions that will effectively and efficiently support the strategic objectives and operational needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Design and implement process and standards for DevOps Automation, design, workflow, implementation and documentation.

  • Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of DevOps Automation.

  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and best practices around DevOps Automation.

  • Partner with software delivery teams to build release pipelines and orchestrate dynamic environments.

  • Maintain current and relevant knowledge of DevOps Automation best practices.

  • Attention to detail, problem solving skills, and a focus on delivering value to our customers are essential.

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to utilize container best practices.

TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT:


  • CI/CD Pipeline tools such as Octopus Deploy/uDeploy/Ansible

  • QA/QE automation tools such as Selenium/TestComplete

  • Configuration Management tools such as Ansible Tower

  • Containerized applications using tools such as OpenShift/Kubernetes/Docker/Helm

  • Cloud Architecture (AWS)

  • Build automation tool such as Jenkins/TFS, Ansible, Terraform, Cloudformation

  • Automation of data components using tools such as MS SQL DB/ Postgres

  • Automation of integration and reporting services such as SSIS/SSRS/Tableau

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working in DevOps environment supporting Agile development teams or as a developer using DevOps tools and frameworks within a large-scale technology shop

  • Experience with Third Party software relationships/vendors preferred

  • Experience with SOA preferred

  • Proven implementation of DevOps preferred.

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates IT staff and aligns to the overall IT and business strategy.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including but not limited to: problem solving, decision making, influencing, change management, written and oral communications along with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively, as well as manage outsourced/offshore managed outcomes testing arrangements.

  • Experience or a good understanding and willingness to commit to and practice continuous improvement in people, process and technology to promote collaboration, agility and speed to deliver using agile, sprint-based working style.

  • Proven ability to successfully balance near-term results (e.g., ability to design and execute on a 'MVP' model), with long-term goals.

  • Experience in establishing effective partnerships across teams and influence senior management, peers and subordinates in an inclusive style to leverage their abilities and knowledge.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $111,900 - $186,500, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
