The Plant Production control group is responsible for steering Plant Spartanburg and its manufacturing system with regards it's volume strategies, scheduling, and on-time delivery of vehicles. With a balanced responsibility for mid-to-long range production strategy and daily manufacturing system steering, we ensure that every X-model built in Plant Spartanburg is configured to the customer's specification and is delivered to them right on time.
Individuals interested in this position would be actively involved in all of the day to day planning and reporting activities that are necessary for smooth production and operation of the plant. Those duties include:
Developing and reporting status updates on the plant performance to senior managers
Identify and resolve obstacles that prevent cars from completing the production process
Lead projects to advance our data analytics, reporting and collaboration tools.
Support Production Control with process improvement activities
Develop / introduce "process model" to Plant Spartanburg using Production Control as the pilot organization. A new tool to document and integrate / connect complex plant processes with multiple interdependencies
Continuous improvement of plant volume steering and reporting tools. Tools used steer the plant at multiple level of the organization (Senior management, department management, operations, etc.).
Support in management / steering of plantwide taskforce for semi-conductor response
Support our "Driver Automation" Project In collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute and Vehicle Control associates; developing an A.I. assisted tool for operational steering of the production system. Process mapping, establishing data links to key systems, defining trigger points to prompt the A.I. tool to map scenarios, etc.
Studying in B.A./B.S. in Engineering or Technology disciplines (S TE M)
Minor in Business or similar certification is ideal
MS Office suite knowledge and experience is required
Knowledge of databases and data analytics tool (PowerBI, Tableau, APEX) preferred
SQL and Python knowledge ideal
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
