The Community Relations Professional is responsible for the day to day activities related to the Foundation function. He/she will be expected to be able to manage the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers as well as to deal comfortably and professionally with senior leaders and stakeholders. The individual will be expected to work independently and be able to lay out work and tasks in a well-planned and organized manner as well as to orchestrate multiple activities and projects at once. His/her project management skills should include the ability to scope tasks and projects, including milestones, results and possible roadblocks. It will be expected that the individual will be able to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with limited information, and be able to anticipate and adjust for impeding issues. General administrative support is needed, including maintaining department calendars, organizing meetings, answering incoming calls for the Foundation and other support as needed.
The individual reports to the Vice President, Foundation within the Corporate Communications function, based in Irving, TX. Travel is expected to be less than 10%.
Position Scope:
Under general supervision, responsible for day-to-day administration of Foundation policies and programs
Act as the first point of contact for employees and external parties regarding Foundation activities and K-C’s community relations
Maintain the Foundation budget including tracking of all financial transactions. Ensure compliance to Corporate policies, report on spending on a quarterly basis, maintain Foundation database.
Collaborate with key stakeholders (community relations leads, communications, external non-profits, etc.) to cultivate ideas, process improvements, etc. to enhance the Foundation’s activities and engagement.
Meticulous organization of details to enable flawless execution and record keeping to support audits as needed
Act as the primary interface with external vendors to manage Foundation employee programs
Matching Gifts and Community Partners (Dollars for Doers)
Analysis and approvals of applications
Process quarterly disbursements
Ensure compliance to Corporate policies
Management of KC’s giving portal software tool including relationship with outside vendor
Bright Futures Scholarship Program
Manage internal application process including communications to KC employees
Work with scholarship vendor to manage twice-yearly payments
Assist in development and distribution of internal and external communications regarding annual recipients
Manage K-C National United Way Campaign – serve as Foundation liaison for 22 K-C site campaigns:
Develop national campaign materials and manage the online toolkit for site coordinators
Work with HR and IT to ensure successful campaign reporting to all sites
Perform annual trend analysis on all campaigns
Assist in the development of ELT messaging and video
Manage annual reporting to United Way Worldwide.
Manage Dallas WHQ United Way of Metro Dallas Campaign:
Serve as main point of contact to Dallas Campaign Chair and assist to develop the annual campaign plan.
Organize and execute site volunteer activities
Manage K-C’s relationship with and reporting to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas
Responsible for administration of the K-C Cares site (employee giving portal) that requires daily customer service, YourCause/Blackbaud vendor relationship management and personal review of all employee grant requests.
Plan, direct and ensure successful execution for Foundation special events in a thoughtful and engaging manner that caters to multiple audiences, including but not limited to United Way campaigns, Boys & Girls Clubs annual fundraising events and other community events. Responsibilities include database management, internal employee communications, internal and external correspondence, securing location and food, attending the events to provide support, preparing materials and other needs.
Proactively manage product donation requests for North America as needed. This includes evaluation of incoming requests, making recommendations for grants, tracking complete information of donations made and compiling end of year report summary
Monitor and track contribution data as needed for the annual KC sustainability report
Process check requests including all necessary approvals and reporting requirements
Professionally answer and direct incoming calls
Limited general administrative support for the function

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree required, preferably in a related field or education/experience equivalency
3-5 years of related project work experience
Financial acumen
Demonstrated attention to detail and organization skills
Use MS Outlook at an intermediate to expert level
Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel
Demonstrated strong project management skills
Ability to multi-task and collaborate in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to collect, assimilate and analyze data
A demonstrated ability to act independently to solve problems and make necessary decisions, organize workload, set priorities, work well under deadline pressures, adapt to change, and handle confidential material
Ability and willingness to work overtime on an occasional basis to meet workload demands
