Job Purpose:

Cognizant Industry Marketing is searching for a Director for its North American Manufacturing sector.

This role will own the planning and implementation of client facing marketing programs. A key aspect of the position is to ensure continual alignment between the business, marketing and ROI being delivered. Role includes driving content development, content distribution, demand generation, account-based marketing, partner marketing, social, analyst relations and advisor relations.

Responsibilities Overview:

As an Industry Marketing Lead for Manufacturing, you will be responsible for overseeing all related program activities for the sector – from concept through design, to execution and reporting.

Here’s the opportunity:


  • Define and execute in partnership with Cognizant’s brand, martech and media teams the client facing messaging and programs that best speaks to our Manufacturing clients and the business solutions they are looking for.

  • Co-create and implement sales enablement assets, case studies, learning and development tools.

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business unit (BU) leadership to define, develop and contribute to industry thought leadership that includes research studies, white papers, sales guides, perspective, and points-of-view pieces in support of defined programs.

  • Collaborate with Cognizant partners and colleagues, (thought leadership, advisory, AR, PR, social media, and website teams) and sales leadership to syndicate thought leadership and drive visibility for the sectors.

  • Lead the messaging development from an industry point-of-view in partnership with Cognizant’s messaging and brand teams with a focus on business imperatives, industry trends that help develop a challenger perspective.

  • Align with Global Events driving client participation to Cognizant’s experiential events including Formula 1, PGA, LPGA and SailGP

  • Plan and manage marketing budget

  • Work effectively with multiple stake holders internally and externally to ensure delivery and quality of assets that are in alignment with Cognizant branding guidelines.

  • Continually measure and optimize ROI of marketing programs by analyzing data from martech stack and salesforce tools.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • B.A. or B.S. degree

  • At least 8 years of prior professional services experience, 4 of which has been spent in industry marketing, with a demonstrated ability to articulate key industry messages and value propositions

  • Previous experience developing and executing integrated, account-based, demand generation and content marketing programs using martech tools such as Pardot, Adobe Experience and 6Sense

  • Experience in tracking marketing influenced revenue through sales automation tools such as SalesForce

  • Excellent project management skills and validated ability to lead cross-functional, cross-regional teams to complete objectives on time and within budget.

  • Previous experience leading multiple partners in a highly matrixed model.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - including at the executive level.

  • Ability to align tactical execution with strategic vision

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior industry marketing experience in professional services

  • Industry marketing experience in the B2C sector.

  • Familiarity with the persona-based targeting

  • Solutions based marketing and/or product marketing experience
